Wye Mountain Daffodil festival

This is seriously one of my favorite things about Arkansas...daffodils! I just love them, and I have always enjoyed the Wye Mountain Daffodil festival. It just feels like spring is here! Anna and Henry had a wonderful time there today!

Hot Springs

Monday we went to Hot Springs to the lakehouse! It was gorgeous weather, and we had a great time playing outdoors. Our friends, Jana and Lilly, went with us. Anna and Lilly had a "sleepover" which was quite exciting! Luckily, they were so worn out that they fell asleep rather quickly! We played putt putt golf and went to Garvan Woodland Gardens. They were gorgeous! There were around 150,000 tulips in bloom as well as loads of other flowers. Anna, Henry and Lilly loved the childrens area of the gardens where they were able to climb around and explore.

Horse races

This weekend we went with some friends to the horse races in Hot Springs! This was the first time Chad and I watched the races from the Jockey Club. It was a lot of fun! We didn't cash a ticket all day, but we still had a great time.

Big Boy!

We have been trying to encourage Henry to use the potty since he was 18 months before bath time. He has never been very interested. Last night, while he was in the shower he said that he needed to go. We put him on the potty and he actually went! We were so excited. So was he. His bike helmet was in the bathroom because we had just come in from outside, and he hadn't wanted to take it off. He promptly put it back on while using the potty. I guess that this is the start of potty training, Henry style!

Beautiful weather

Today we have spent a ton of time outdoors in this gorgeous weather! We went to the zoo this morning and then played outside before nap! Henry and Anna loved the zoo. This was the first time that Henry could say all of the animal names, and it was so fun seeing him so excited. His favorite animals are the giraffes, and Anna's are the snakes and bears. Interesting, don't you think? I am looking forward to grilling tonight and playing outside more!

One more thing...Anna and Henry both love driving around with their windows down and the sunroof open in this fabulous weather. Anna also says, "let's jam out mom!" Yesterday afternoon we were "jamming out" and Anna was dancing in the backseat. One hand was in the air doing what Chad calls my "signature dance move" and the other hand was in her thumb sucking pose...it was quite a sight.

All I have to say is thank goodness for the spring and sunshine!
