100th Day of Kindergarten

Today was the 100th day of kindergarten. Anna was so excited about this day since the kids were going to be able to go into each kindergarten classroom to do fun activities. I went to help out while Henry was at school, and I captured a few pictures. Anna made a necklace with 100 beads for her project to bring from home...she loves to accessorize!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We hope that you had a day filled with love and happiness! :) Anna had valentine's centers this morning that were a lot of fun. Henry "helped" as well!

Check out these cute snacks! This time I didn't bring food...we helped plan/organize activities. Anna was so excited getting everything ready! :)

Henry loved helping Anna pass out her valentines!

Valentine's Day Family Dance

Sunday evening we went to a fun family dance hosted by some families in our neighborhood. It was so much fun. Anna loved running around with her friends, and Henry was a hilarious doing the limbo!

Bicycles

Today was so gorgeous outside, and so we all decided to try out our new bikes. Henry rode his new "big boy bike", and we were so proud. I guess that Anna felt a bit inspired, and she decided that she wanted her training wheels off. She has been riding the balance bike a few times since Christmas, and she has done really well with it. Chad took off the training wheels, and OFF SHE WENT! I couldn't believe how well she was riding! We were so proud of both of our kiddos today! It was so fun being outside with all of us riding bikes. I hadn't had a bike since my grocery getter in Tokyo! I have to say...this one rides quite a bit better!:)

Valentine's Day Playdate

Wednesday Anna had her friends Maizie and Emily over to make valentines, necklaces and cupcakes. The girls had a lot of fun! Henry was disappointed his friend Milo couldn't come, but he ended up enjoying the cupcakes! :)

Writer's Cafe at Anna's School

Anna participated in a writer's cafe at her school. She read an original piece of writing. There were two children from her class who were able to do it. Anna wrote about Mocha, and she was so excited. Yesterday afternoon she carefully chose her outfit...after we had everything out, she changed her mind and decided she would rather wear something "a bit fancier". She is so funny!

At the "writer's cafe" there were children from all grade levels and their families. The school lobby was transformed into a "cafe" with tables, sofas, and little lanterns. There were snacks and servers who served drinks. It was so cute. There was also a published author/illustrator (Clay Carmichael who wrote Used Up Bear) who read and discussed the writing process!

I wasn't sure how Anna would feel...would she still feel comfortable to read into a microphone in front of a room full of people? She did wonderful, and we were so proud of her!
