Weekend at the lake

We had a great weekend at the lake with our friends Kelly, Bill and Cole. The kids woke up Saturday morning ready to fish! They went to a bait shop for crickets, worms and fishing licenses. While waiting in line for the license, Anna and Cole dropped the cricket bucket. Crickets went everywhere and Anna and Cole squealed and took off the other direction. Poor Chad and Bill were on the floor scrambling to pick up all of the crickets...if only I had a picture to post of that! The locals were getting a good laugh. Bill is an excellent fisherman, and he started catching fish quickly. (He had a regular sized pole.) Anna loved touching the fish, giving them kisses and throwing them back in. Chad was stuck with the 1 1/2 foot long Dora pole. Anna was anxious to catch one on her pole (or for Chad to catch one). He did finally catch one and it happened to be the largest one of the day! There was quite a bit of excitement! Henry enjoyed the nice weather and showed off his two teeth! He also loved swinging down by the lake. Anna also swam in the lake and jumped off the dock for the first time. She definitely is my daughter considering that before going in she asked, "What about all the fish in the lake? Where will they be while I am swimming?" She was a little nervous about them, but she was so brave and had a great time!

I can't believe that Henry is 8 months

Today Henry is 8 months old. He is such a good little baby, and Anna is a wonderful big sister. He loves playing with his sister, pulling up on everything and just being wild! Anna loves going in to get him after naps and in the morning. He is so happy when he sees her.

Playdate

Anna and Henry had a playdate the other day with our friends Kathryn and Lindsey. Anna and Kathryn loved playing dress up, and Lindsey was very interested in Henry's hair.

The sweetest thing ever and playing dolls

We have been "organizing" all of the toys lately. Anna and I were talking about her favorite things, gifts, etc. I asked her which gift has been her very favorite. She sat there for a bit, and then she told me "well, when God, I mean, you, brought me Henry." I think my heart melted right then and there. It was the sweetest thing she has ever said.

Also in the act of "organizing" we have been playing with all sorts of things we haven't seen in awhile. Mostly her crazy number of dolls. Anna was having so much fun setting the dolls all up in crawling postion, getting them dressed, changing stinky diapers and putting them down for naps. Henry decided to join in on the fun with the dolls, he decided to eat them!

Get ready... Henry is on the move

Henry is on the move. He is definitely such a physical boy, and I have noticed quite a few differences between he and Anna. He is crawling!!! He definitely gets around to wherever he wants, pulls up on furniture, and loves the downward dog yoga position. Sometimes I catch him trying to walk on his hands and feet. Crazy boy! I know that we are in for lots of scrapes and bruises with this little guy. He is also getting his first tooth in...we can already see it. That is crazy since Anna didn't get her first tooth until 13 months. I guess that she was too busy growing long hair, but Henry isn't too far behind in that department either. We had to get a second trim today because it was still quite long.

At the pool with cousins

Yesterday we all had a great time swimming and playing with family at Big Daddy and Yaya's house. Henry had his first time in the "big" pool, first bath with the big boys and first haircut. What a day! Anna had so much fun swimming and she just took off down the pool after the dogs! (She was wearing a swimming tube.) She loved playing in the playhouse, swinging with Charlie and Mac and going on a golf cart ride to search for animals. She even sat on the back of the cart with Charlie for the first time. What a big girl!

Henry's first haircut

Can you believe it? Henry needed his first haircut this weekend. We were calling his hair the toupee or comb over, because it was so much longer on the top than underneath. It was also particularly long over his ears. It looks so nice now. Yaya did a great job! I should have gotten a better "before" shot, but the one with him sitting on the rug will have to do. By the way, Anna's first haircut was at 4 months...she beat him by 3 months!

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend. Anna went all day Saturday swimming and playing outside. She went to Yaya's to swim in the morning and then a friend's birthday for the afternoon. Henry and I stayed home since he has been battling a stomach virus for almost a week now. Poor little guy. Here are some pics of him...amazingly enough, he is still happy! I wouldn't be. Anna loves reading to her brother and performing for my new flip video camera. She thinks that it is the best thing ever.
