Happy 4th and the Lake!

This year for the 4th Auntie Laura came for the weekend and then everyone came the next week. Laura and Anna really bonded making jewelry and just having fun! We had so much fun at the lakehouse last week with all of my family! It was great having everyone together. I need to get more of the pictures from my dad, but I did get a few.

Popsicle Party, Take 2

We were supposed to have our end of school popsicle party a couple of weeks ago, but it was rained out. It all worked out because we rescheduled it today, and it was HOT but not unbearable! The St. Marks kids and moms had so much fun! Thank you to Yaya and Big Daddy for letting us have it at their beautiful house! All of the kids rode Shadow, even Henry! They had a ball! By the way, Henry, my little sweet tooth king, must have had at the very least 10 popsicles...he ran around enough to get rid of the extra energy. :) At least he was hydrating in this heat...

Safety Town!

Last week Anna attended a fabulous Safety Town program for children going into Kinder. It has been going on in LR for many years, and she had a blast! They had a graduation program on Friday that the parents went to watch!

Henry looked like such a big boy sitting on the bleachers! He was very interesting in one of Anna's friends big brothers game on the iphone!

Long time, no blogging...

Things have been crazy here since Memorial Day weekend! Chad has accepted a new job at a company in Chapel Hill, NC, we have had workers in our house on a daily basis, and we put it on the market yesterday! We are excited about our move, especially Chad's awesome opportunity! It will be hard to leave all of the friends we have made here. When Chad and I first started dating, I would come to Little Rock and visit. I was constantly amazed that EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere we went he saw someone he knew. Now, I see someone I know everywhere...it is so funny because I really used to appreciate the anonymity of a large city. Now I really have felt the benefits of being in a smaller place, and amazingly enough I have grown to love it. It sounds crazy, but I love going into the little stores we enjoy shopping in and they know us. Part of this is living in the South as well, and I am thankful that Chapel Hill will still be the South. However, it is much more transient than Little Rock, and I am thinking that this will work to our advantage! So all in all, this move is bittersweet! :) Little Rock friends, I will miss you all dearly! Please come visit!

Happy Memorial Day!

We had a fun weekend at the lake. Anna and Henry loved fishing, chasing fireflies and just playing outside. It was a beautiful weekend. We had friends come over on Sunday night to watch the fireworks from our dock! I wish that I would have taken more pictures! We all had a great time.

Henry caught his first fish this trip! They ended up catching quite a few after they figured out where to drop their lines!

Anna and Garrison chasing fireflies and giggling...they were having a ball and it was just the sweetest thing...

Anna and Henry love the lakehouse! They have so much fun together there!

Last Day of St. Mark's Day School

First day of school, September 2009

Last day of school, May 2010

Today was the last day at St. Mark's for Anna...I think that I shed tears yesterday, and then in the carpool line Anna shed hers. Poor little girl cried all the way to meet Chad for lunch. Lucky us, we ended up seeing two friends from her class and another from a different class. They had a ball! Actually, we had seen Mia at Burge's after the first day of school, and then we saw her for the last.

Anna is growing up...sniff, sniff! At least Henry will be going to St. Mark's next year! :)

We received her incredible portfolio book with all of her work from this year. It is also filled with pictures of Anna and her friends doing all of their special activities. It is such a treasure. At the back were a few fill in the blank "about me" type of pages.

Here is what she said about herself:
My favorite color is pink and purple. I like to eat green beans. My favorite thing to do is go to the park. I like St. Mark's because it has my friends. My favorite thing to do at school is play. If I were the boss of the school I would have everyone play in their rooms. When I grow up I want to be a Mom. I like to have "Mommy time" with my Mom. I like to dance with my Dad. This summer I will go to the beach with my cousins. I will miss St. Mark's because I'll miss all my friends.

My mother is pretty. She is very nice. She is 37 years old and 30 feet tall. She weighs 12 pounds. Her eyes are blue. When I am at school, she likes to go shopping. Her favorite color is red. She like to wear blue jeans. My favorite dish my mother cooks is peanut butter sandwich. I love my mother because she does a lot of stuff for me!

Quite hilarious!

Kindergarten Round Up

Today we went for Anna's kinder round up...I will say it again...how time flies. Anna was quite nervous. Thank goodness we saw Mia as we walked in. Mia grabbed her hand and they sat down. Then Mary Ellis came in and sat next to them...the three little St. Mark's girls were so funny huddled together and nervous! They all loosened up and had fun on the playground after having having cookies and juice! Anna didn't want to leave! Real school starts August 19th...no more start time after labor day!
