This week has been a busy one so far...we have had two pageant practices at church, lighting of the tree with Santa in our neighborhood and playdates. Today was supposed to be Anna's annual cookie decorating, but sadly we will have to reschedule since Anna was sent home from school sick. The table was already set, house ready to go and poor Anna was devastated. We will do it next week...I may just have to freeze all of the cookies that I rolled, cut and baked last night! :)
One thing about the neighborhood tree lighting and SANTA...
Henry was so excited...the look and smile on his face was just priceless. When we first arrived, Santa was not there yet and their were choirs singing, etc. Henry was wandering around, and when we asked him what he was doing he said, "I looking for Santa, mommy!" Anna, Henry and all of their friends chased and ran all around "the green"! They had a ball. When Santa arrived, Henry grabbed my hand tight...(last year the man in the red suit had been extremely scary to him). He was mesmerized. Anna was excited, but a bit more into the chase game with all the kids from her class! Anna told Santa what she would like and let him pick her up for a picture. Henry finally let go of my hand, but just continued to stare up at the big guy. When Santa spoke to Henry, he gave him five, told him what he would like for Christmas, but still wasn't quite up for Santa to hold him! Staring at Santa was enough for this year...
What a fun, magical season...It is so fun absorbing it all through our children's eyes! Henry has a birthday party for Jesus at his school next week, and he keeps asking me if he will have cake...priceless! Anna keeps trying to sit Henry down to tell him a "very important story"! They chose some cards with children's wishes off of a giving tree at church to buy presents for. Anna was very excited about this, and she can't wait to take the presents back to put under the tree. We hope that everyone is enjoying this holiday season!
