"Everybody wants to be a cat"

Anna went to an awesome camp last week in the mornings that ended with a performance of Aristocats, Jr.!  It was adorable!  She LOVED it!

She painted faces one afternoon after practice!  She was so excited!

Alley cats!
Even though this is blurry...I love it!

Anna's Kinder teacher was there.  We just love her!

happy kitties

Chad skipped out of a golf tournament to make it for the show!

Another swim meet...first "real" one!

Anna loves swimming at the meets...She loves swim team, but I think she also loves the social part of the meets...picnics on their towels with pizza, candy and card playing with friends!  Henry started Junior Rays practice, and he is doing great!  He is thrilled to be a part of the team!

Goodbye, first grade...Hello 2nd grade!

We had all sorts of end of school activities for the last week!  It was BUSY, but fun...

Here are a few of the highlights:
Class play and individual presentations.  (Anna's presentation was about her research on Elephants.  All her classmates chose an animal, researched and made slides for the smart board to present.  It was impressive!)  Beach day, crazy hair day, field day, etc...

They had a scavenger hunt in our little "town" that ended at Tutti Fruitti!  Yummy!

 Goodbye first grade!

We made a sign for Anna...Henry taped it on the front door with his favorite toy of all...painters tape!
I am somewhat in shock that we now have a second grader.  Wow, that sounds old!  Anna had a good year, but she was ready for summer.  The other night before dinner when we were saying our blessing she said, "Thank you God that school is almost over, so we can all have fun and rest!"  She couldn't have expressed my feelings better...HA!  Summer has started...no resting involved, but lots of fun at least!

Weekend fun!

Friday night the NC Symphony was playing an outdoor concert in our neighborhood, but it was cancelled due to rain! We can't wait for next year! Saturday morning we had a mock swim meet this weekend! It was a great time...and Anna loved it! She swam freestyle and backstroke and did great! This Wednesday is our first meet against another team...Go Stingrays! We did a lot of swimming and playing outside all weekend...it was gorgeous! 5 more days of school....

Henry's last spring soccer game

Henry's last soccer game happened to be against a team full of a bunch of his friends! It was a fun day watching the kiddos play!

Happy Memorial Day!

We had a nice Memorial Day weekend full of swimming, ping pong and food trucks. We stayed very busy, but definitely stopped to remember all of those who serve our country!

Henry's last day of preschool

Henry had a wonderful year at preschool this year. He loved his teachers, classmates and school. I know that he will miss it this summer! Hopefully we can keep some fun activities going in between swim team (which he starts today), camps, vbs and just plain old summertime fun! He has grown so much this year both in size and personality! Henry is our little sponge and loves learning!
