School performances and visitors...

A couple of weeks ago, Anna and her friends performed their talent show act again, but this time for the entire student body!  They did great and really weren't even nervous!  It was so fun to watch!

School dance party to "Happy"… girls dancing with their principal and loving it!

3rd grade friends!  Sweet, fun girls!

Then yesterday all of the classes performed in Frog Fest with either a musical act or a folk dance.

Henry's class performed an adorable poem accompanied by drums.

Anna's class sang a Jamaican song with all kinds of percussion instruments.  Anna was front and center on the drums.  All of the students did such a great job!

There was also a special visitor who recently came to Anna and Henry's school.  It was Katherine Applegate, the author of The One and Only Ivan.  It is a fabulous, Newberry Award winner, and one of Anna's favorites.  She was so excited to hear all about the author and the book.  As it turns out, the author's children had gone to our school before they moved to California.  Anna was so thrilled to meet her and she even gave her a hug!  I love that she loves books!  She had been looking forward to this author visit for weeks!  It did not disappoint, in fact I think it was Anna's favorite assembly of the year!
