Happy Birthday Anna!

I cannot believe that Anna is 4 today. My how time flies!!! It seems like just yesterday (in some ways and in other ways not) that we were moving from Japan to Little Rock, and we were about to have our first child. Anna has been an absolute joy to us, and she is really growing into such a wonderful young girl.

Anna loves:
Her Family, especially her brother
Her Friends and School
Playing outside
Playing princesses, babies, dollhouse and reading books
Clothes, shoes and accessories
Nightgowns and pajamas
Going mudding, dude!
Asking questions, sometimes extremely challenging ones!
beef tenderloin, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, hummus, caprese salad (We will have most of those tonight for her B-day dinner)

Anna has such a strong personality, and I know that this will push her to do amazing things in her future. She is bright and vivacious, with a little drama (as any girl should have). Her teacher says that she lights up the classroom, and she definitely lights up our world! We are so proud of her, and we still can't believe that she is already four years old! We love her so much!

Getting ready for spring...

We thought that it was supposed to be spring, but the weather is acting a bit different. It was freezing today! Even though we had cold weather we went spring shoe shopping and both kids got a haircut. I can't believe Henry is wearing "big boy shoes". I keep looking at him thinking, he is still a baby! He is our baby, but he is just getting so big.

Big boy shoes! They loved getting their haircuts at the kids salon here! I have NEVER seen Anna so excited to get hers done until we started going here. While we were there taking pictures, we told Anna to say "cheese" and guess who said it with her? Henry!!! It is so hard to believe that a little over a month ago Henry didn't have any words and now he has so many! Thank you tubes!!! It was almost immediate that he started talking after the tubes. I really can't believe it. The ENT doctor said he must not have been able to hear much or it was garbled. That was the definite truth! I am so thankful that we had that procedure done!

Happy Spring!

We went to the Wye Mountain Daffodil festival today! It has always been a favorite outing of mine, and we didn't make it last year...I think that the ice had beaten the flowers down. This year they were pretty, but we should have gone up there the weekend before. Hopefully next year we can hit the peak!

Anna and Henry loved running through the fields, and Anna was such a great big sister helping her brother get around. He calls her sissy (diddy)or Anna (Danna)now, and it is so cute. Yesterday she was riding her trike and he ran after her with the helmet yelling "diddy, diddy"! Safety first!

Anna had her face painted, and of course, Henry wanted his done as well. It was hard to believe that he stayed still for it!

Happy St.Patty's day

We hope that everyone is having a wonderful St.Patrick's Day. We are enjoying some gorgeous weather here! When I picked up Anna from school, she was thrilled that her face was painted, and she had an "Anna O'Smith" hat on. She has so much fun at her school! We are so thankful for it!

Henry and Anna

Henry and Anna are getting so big! They have such personalities, and they are so much fun. Anna is growing into such a big girl...I can't believe that she is about to be four. She loves music, dancing, reading books, playing babies and dollhouse, and having playdates with her friends. She is quite the social butterfly...we went to the park one day and she knew more people than Mommy and Daddy!

Henry has been busy expressing himself lately with his beaming smile, growing vocabulary, and sometimes mischievous behavior(with a melt your heart smile, of course!). I recently captured some hilarious Smith family moments...

Henry grabbing Mommy's beer after a long day of playing...we could be in trouble. He was able to get a little on his lips with his amazingly strong grip...

Let's hope that he always thinks it is yucky!

The other night the TV was on ABC, and Anna was in the room. She was about ready for bed and noticed that Dancing with the Stars was on. She had never seen this show (because Mommy and Daddy think it is rather silly), but she was enamored. Somehow she noticed that all of the girl dancers wore high heels, and so she ran to her room and came back with some. She was doing her "cool moves" as the couples danced. It was quite entertaining!!!

The other day right after our beloved housekeeper had been here...literally she left an hour before, Henry decided to make a mess, and I mean MESS! He was eating snack in a bowl sitting on the kitchen floor while I worked on dinner. He decided to dump his snack on the floor, but the best part is that he also decided to clean it up. He ran off and grabbed his vacuum to "clean" the floor. Instead it just ground up the cheerios and goldfish, but he definitely got an "A" for effort! I ended up getting out the real vacuum, but Henry was incredibly proud of his work. It was hilarious!

It is hard for him to get into trouble when he is so CUTE!

Happy Mardi Gras and Nanny visits!

Anna had a wonderful time celebrating Fat Tuesday last week at school. They threw beads and coins in the car in carpool line! They had a great day at school. Nanny came to visit on that day too, and she stayed with us for a whole week! It was so much fun. We had a great visit. Thank you Nanny!
