Ice Day 2

We did have a bit of snow to cover the ice, but sadly there was not enough for a snowman. Anna was a bit disappointed since we had our "snowman kit" ready, but she didn't mind after she experienced her first sled ride! She would have stayed outside all day if we let her! Henry really loved sledding, but we didn't let him stay out too long since he is not feeling too well. It was entertaining because it was my first sled ride as well. We have an awesome hill that is perfect for sledding!

Ice Day 1

Yesterday we were stuck at home due to freezing rain and sleet all day long. There was quite a bit of ice on the ground and roads. Anna and Henry LOVED it. It was the first time for Henry to really play in the snow/ice. We haven't had snow here since Henry was about 5 months old. All of a sudden, Anna just plopped on the ground and said she was making a snow angel. Henry tried, but he was a bit unsure and wouldn't put his head down. Anna said that she will be making an entire choir of snow angels next!

Henry, Anna and Mocha

Anna and Henry are having the best time as new puppy owners. Everyone seems to be getting along quite well. In fact, they love Mocha so much that sometimes I have to separate them so the puppy can get a nap. They love playing outside with him and helping with his food and water bowls. Mocha is so sweet with Anna and Henry, and he is such an amazing little puppy! He has definitely won our hearts.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION...

I absolutely CAN'T believe that the time has arrived for us to register Anna for kindergarten. How has my baby grown up so quickly? I can't believe that she is getting ready for true BIG GIRL SCHOOL! Anna went with us for the registration to look around. Chad and I had already toured the school and spoken with quite a few parents and teachers, but this was her first time there. In true Little Rock fashion, Chad already knew some of the mothers who were giving the tours. Anna was able to speak to one of the kindergarten teachers while I filled out paperwork. When I asked her what they spoke about, she said, "I was shy." Little do they know that Anna won't be shy after a few days there. :) I am so excited that they offered for her to shadow another kindergarten student to see what goes on. She will be able to shadow a girl she already knows who went to school at St. Mark's last year as well. I think that will help with her transition...what will help with mine????

The same day that we registered was ballet. Anna was so excited to go in and tell her friend who already attends the school that she is going there too. She told us that her friend "flipped out and was so excited". I didn't know that 4 year olds "flip out"! It was so funny! I am just thankful that Anna is excited.

Happy New Years!

We wish everyone the very best in 2010! We started our year with a new addition to the family...introducing Mocha, our chocolate cockapoo!

Christmas in Houston

We drove to Houston the day after Christmas this year. It was an easy drive on the way there...thank goodness! I think that Anna and Henry were worn out after so many days of activities. Everyone on my mom's side was there for a dinner at Nana's on Sunday. We hadn't all been together in quite a long time, and we had a great time. Laura stayed at my parents the whole time we were there, and she earned the name, "La" by Henry. The twins are getting so big and so much fun. We went to dinner with them one night with just Anna, and she was quite the big girl helper!

Anna on her first official bike ride outside at Nanny and Grandpa's. She had expert cyclist Laura by her side.

Henry and his train table that Grandpa made! We needed a different sized table than the ones sold! Thank you Grandpa! :) They both love it!

Christmas at Nana's house...I always loved Christmas at Nana and Papa's house as a child. It was so festive with the fire going (no matter what the temp in Houston), champagne or ginger ale, and Papa as Santa passing out the presents. In fact, Henry looked at a picture of sweet Papa and said, WHOA WHOA (ho, ho...meaning santa). We all laughed. His white hair, big smile and cheery disposition in the pic gave Henry the idea!

The Christmas presents!

Nana fixed an old doll trunk of my mom's for Anna complete with ironed doll clothes, some that were my moms that their old housekeeper had made for her. They are beautiful, and it was such a sweet and special present. The little dresses were all on hangers and everything was just perfect.

Anna and sweet Sarah, my friend Stephanie's little girl. We went to the park with them!

Merry Christmas in Little Rock

We had a great Christmas in Little Rock this year! We celebrated with family and had a wonderful Christmas morning as a family! It is such a joy watching our children grow and experience the Christmas season. We hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday!

Our tree...Santa had arrived and left everything on the chairs in the living room!

Christmas Eve at Yaya and Big Daddy's house. Anna got her first bike with a biking jersey and helmet!

Henry got a horse to ride from Gigi!
