Last week of kindergarten

This week has already started out exciting! We had hippie day Monday, today was backwards day and Anna's class potluck dinner. It was such a fun evening with all of the sweet families from her class! We had yummy food (my favorite was all of the Korean food and sushi!!!) I made a fruit salad and FROG CAKE POPS! (Anna's school mascot is a frog!) They were a challenge, but I think that they came out ok...They definitely tasted yummy! No leftovers for us (that is probably a good thing!)

Stay tuned for crazy hair and pajama day...

Then Friday we are off to Little Rock - it has almost been a year! I can't believe it! We also have Chad's 20th HS reunion...should be fun!

I can't believe Anna is about to be a first grader!!! She is getting so big!

So this is Will...Henry LOVES him, and this boy is about the sweetest kid in the world. As you can see, Henry thinks he is "big"...not only can he hang with the kindergartners, but he also hangs with the second graders! The coolest part about it is that Will (Emily's big brother) genuinely takes an interest in Henry and talks to him. I am so impressed with him!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day! Lots of pool time + grilling + dinner out with friends = a super fun weekend!

These popcicles are locally made with fresh ingredients...they have quickly become a favorite in this hot weather!

Our week!

We have been on the go ever since Henry finished school Tuesday! We had a playdate at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, and we have volunteered at Anna's school the past two days. Today we helped with lunch and recess. I think Henry thinks that he is in kindergarten...he loved sitting at the table for lunch, walking down the halls and joining in the class. All of the kids know him and are so sweet. He will be a pro when he goes to kinder!

This afternoon we had a horrible storm, certainly nothing like a lot of other states have had, but it was really bad lightning and thunder. The lightning actually hit a house 5 down from us and it caught on fire! It was crazy and almost $200,000 worth of damages! Downtown Chapel Hill flooded as well!

Henry's last day of preschool

Yesterday was Henry's last day of 2 year old preschool. He had a great year, and he loved school. He is such a big boy now! I can't believe that this year is over...

Ballet rehearsal and recital weekend!

This past weekend was super busy, but so fun! We had Anna's recital rehearsal on Saturday. Afterwards, we headed to the pool and visited with a bunch of friends. Then we ordered pizza with a bunch of families and ate it on the green in the center of our neighborhood. We set up chairs and blankets to hang out and listen to a Grateful Dead cover band! The kids all had a ball and so did we! Our neighborhood is so fun in the summer with the movies and concerts on the green...we are looking forward to a lot of fun times!

Sunday was Anna's recital. She did a wonderful job. We were so proud of her hard work this year!

Finally!

It has been so long since the last time I updated our blog! I guess life happens and the weeks seem to go by so quickly! Lately we have been enjoying the spring weather...riding bikes, playing at the parks, swimming and picking strawberries. Anna's new favorite past time is finding honeysuckle bushes, eating them and climbing trees...I never really did that all of that as a child... Last weekend we went to a friend's house and the kids climbed a cherry tree, picked cherries, washed and ate them! It is always an adventure lately! As long as we stay away from all of the poison ivy and ticks around here, I am happy! :)

Henry has been very interested in having playdates with friends, playing at the "sand park" near our house, playing legos and trains. Anna and Henry love playing school with each other. Anna is busy teaching Henry all of his letters and numbers! Henry just wants to do whatever Anna is doing...he just loves his big sister.
