We had so much fun in Florida last week. Anna and Henry had so much fun playing with cousins, boogie boarding, and visiting with family. It was such a nice trip! Thanks Nanny and Grandpa! xoxo

Annie Jr.

This past weekend Anna and I went to see a production of Annie Jr. at Duke University. Anna LOVED it! Quite a few older girls from our neighborhood were in the production, and they all did a great job! Anna hopes to be in it next year! I think you have to be 7! :) Now we have a new Annie lover...she loves the music and we also ended up watching the movie from the 80's! I just ordered the Annie remake from 1999...we will see how it measures up!

Check out the gorgeous Duke Chapel...the campus is so beautiful!

Anna's first tooth!

Anna has been so thrilled to have not one,but two loose teeth for the past couple of weeks. Yesterday, she was even more thrilled when one of the loose ones was about horizontal. It kind of grossed me out! Good thing it didn't phase her...she pulled it out herself! So...the tooth fairy visited our house for the first time last night! Lots of excitement around here!

About to lose it!

Ready for the tooth fairy :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers out there. I am so thankful for Chad and the way he takes care of our family. We are all so lucky to have him! We love you Daddy! We are also so thankful for all of our fathers, grandfathers, father figures, etc. in our lives! We love you all.

Little Rock trip

We just returned from a week trip to Little Rock. I wish that we would have had more time there...it went by too quickly. We enjoyed seeing family, friends and our old stomping grounds!!! I had worried about Anna visiting since she has missed it all so much, but she was a trooper and excited to return to North Carolina!

We were able to visit a beautiful memorial to Chad's mom overlooking downtown Little Rock on a bike trail. We hiked up there in the heat, but when we made it to the spot it was so beautiful with a cool breeze. What a beautiful spot!

I wish I would have taken more pics of everyone and everything...but we were too busy visiting with everyone and having fun! We miss all of you! xoxo

First Grade, Here We Come!

Today is the last day of kindergarten for Anna. Wow! What a year we have had. I can't say enough things about her amazing teachers and class. It has been a great year...

Here are some of our favorite memories!
JUST LOVING her sweet teachers...the year would have been so different without them!
Meeting all her sweet classmates
Making smores at the thanksgiving feast and so many of the kids had never had them!
Learning all about her classmates home countries
Seeing Anna's excitement reading her take home readers
Anna's writing
The Writer's Cafe
Watching the problem solving in the classroom with social situations
Monkey Bars
Riding bikes to school
Class play
Volunteering for centers
Potluck...the sweet song
Frog fest!

I can't believe we have a first grader in our house! That seems TOO big! I am so proud of Anna. This has been a year of changes for her in so many ways, and I am so thankful that we have had the support of her teachers and classmates. She has learned so much both academically and socially!

Today was also PJ day!

Last week of kindergarten

This week has already started out exciting! We had hippie day Monday, today was backwards day and Anna's class potluck dinner. It was such a fun evening with all of the sweet families from her class! We had yummy food (my favorite was all of the Korean food and sushi!!!) I made a fruit salad and FROG CAKE POPS! (Anna's school mascot is a frog!) They were a challenge, but I think that they came out ok...They definitely tasted yummy! No leftovers for us (that is probably a good thing!)

Stay tuned for crazy hair and pajama day...

Then Friday we are off to Little Rock - it has almost been a year! I can't believe it! We also have Chad's 20th HS reunion...should be fun!

I can't believe Anna is about to be a first grader!!! She is getting so big!

So this is Will...Henry LOVES him, and this boy is about the sweetest kid in the world. As you can see, Henry thinks he is "big"...not only can he hang with the kindergartners, but he also hangs with the second graders! The coolest part about it is that Will (Emily's big brother) genuinely takes an interest in Henry and talks to him. I am so impressed with him!
