Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny found us at the beach!

A morning walk on the boardwalk...before Henry's fever came back :(

He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today!

My absolute favorite hymn! We had a low key Easter Sunday enjoying the beach. We had planned on some activities for the day, but Henry was still sick! We enjoyed some family time :)

Beach time!

On Good Friday, we headed to the beach for a fun getaway with Willis and Elaine! I had never been to the Carolina Coast and it was fun! Poor little Henry got sick, but he was still able to have a little fun. Anna is a beach girl!!! She loves it! I do too...there is something about the sound of the waves that is just so relaxing to me! Anna is already counting down until we go again.

Performance at school!

Anna's class did a performance at school for all of the children of one of my favorite songs, I am a promise! Such a sweet little song sung by sweet little kiddos!

Golidilocks and the Three Bears Class Play

Anna had her class play last week. It was so impressive! They sang so many songs and told the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as viewed by the forest creatures...Anna was a bumblebee (why she is wearing yellow) We love Mrs. Edmonds and Mrs. Zsuppan!!!! They were the only kindergarten class to do this!

Pancakes+Pearls+Pajamas+Pedicures=PARTY!!!

Awhile back I saw an adorable idea for a party...pancakes and pearls! Anna LOVED it and we decided this would be her next birthday party! We invited all of the girls from her class plus a few other little friends. Luckily we had 3 UNC students come and help out! (One of our AWESOME babysitters and her friends!) It turned out to be a fun little party! My first one to do without any family here...they were missed!!!

Would you believe that Chad made 80 small pancakes and 12 little ladies ate them all??? We also had fruit kabobs and mini muffins...plus berries, sparkly syrup and homemade whipped cream to top the pancakes. The girls made bracelets, rings and necklaces while they took turns getting a pedicure. I think they loved decorating flip flops the best with all of the "bling"!

We also had cupcakes and cake pops (aka "pearl pops") for dessert... It was my first attempt at cake pops, but I think I learned a few tricks for the next time. They were delicious, but some were certainly better looking than others! At least they were sparkly! :)

Anna had so much fun celebrating with her friends here! That was the best part!

Even Henry wanted a pedicure...he decided on blue polish...this could be a possible funny picture someday...

Fun Visit

On Friday we had a fun visit with our dear friends that live in Seattle. They came for the day, and we had a fabulous time. It was so fun seeing you Kate, Stephen, Liesl and Alden! Come back again soon! :) Or at least move a bit closer! xoxo

Nanny and Grandpa's visit

This week Nanny and Grandpa have been visiting for spring break. We enjoyed visiting the Durham Life and Science Museum, playing outside and having a picnic at Jordan Lake State Park. We also visited the gardens at Duke University...wow! They were gorgeous. I can't wait to return in a few weeks when things are blooming even more. It was so fun having them here! Anna and Henry can't wait to see them again!

At the dinosaur trail...Henry was telling everyone, "Don't worry, they aren't real!"

They loved the insect exhibit...actually, we all loved it!
