Happy Memorial Day!

We had a fun weekend at the lake. Anna and Henry loved fishing, chasing fireflies and just playing outside. It was a beautiful weekend. We had friends come over on Sunday night to watch the fireworks from our dock! I wish that I would have taken more pictures! We all had a great time.

Henry caught his first fish this trip! They ended up catching quite a few after they figured out where to drop their lines!

Anna and Garrison chasing fireflies and giggling...they were having a ball and it was just the sweetest thing...

Anna and Henry love the lakehouse! They have so much fun together there!

Last Day of St. Mark's Day School

First day of school, September 2009

Last day of school, May 2010

Today was the last day at St. Mark's for Anna...I think that I shed tears yesterday, and then in the carpool line Anna shed hers. Poor little girl cried all the way to meet Chad for lunch. Lucky us, we ended up seeing two friends from her class and another from a different class. They had a ball! Actually, we had seen Mia at Burge's after the first day of school, and then we saw her for the last.

Anna is growing up...sniff, sniff! At least Henry will be going to St. Mark's next year! :)

We received her incredible portfolio book with all of her work from this year. It is also filled with pictures of Anna and her friends doing all of their special activities. It is such a treasure. At the back were a few fill in the blank "about me" type of pages.

Here is what she said about herself:
My favorite color is pink and purple. I like to eat green beans. My favorite thing to do is go to the park. I like St. Mark's because it has my friends. My favorite thing to do at school is play. If I were the boss of the school I would have everyone play in their rooms. When I grow up I want to be a Mom. I like to have "Mommy time" with my Mom. I like to dance with my Dad. This summer I will go to the beach with my cousins. I will miss St. Mark's because I'll miss all my friends.

My mother is pretty. She is very nice. She is 37 years old and 30 feet tall. She weighs 12 pounds. Her eyes are blue. When I am at school, she likes to go shopping. Her favorite color is red. She like to wear blue jeans. My favorite dish my mother cooks is peanut butter sandwich. I love my mother because she does a lot of stuff for me!

Quite hilarious!

Kindergarten Round Up

Today we went for Anna's kinder round up...I will say it again...how time flies. Anna was quite nervous. Thank goodness we saw Mia as we walked in. Mia grabbed her hand and they sat down. Then Mary Ellis came in and sat next to them...the three little St. Mark's girls were so funny huddled together and nervous! They all loosened up and had fun on the playground after having having cookies and juice! Anna didn't want to leave! Real school starts August 19th...no more start time after labor day!

Anna's ballet recital

Anna had her ballet recital yesterday. It was such fun! The girls were adorable and danced so well on the big stage at Robinson Music Hall! The audience was packed! I spent quite a bit of time backstage with the girls, and they loved playing around in their costumes and putting on makeup...especially anything with sparkles! We even stayed for the entire recital for Anna to participate in the grand finale! In other words, we were there from 12:45 until 5 pm! The actual recital started at 2. Anna fell asleep on the way home...what an exciting day. :)

On the stage! Anna is the third one from the right hand side

Finale...everyone came back on stage

Didn't I say that I was tired? :)

Dress Rehearsal on the BIG stage!

Anna had so much fun yesterday morning at her dress rehearsal for the recital today! We ended up staying for quite awhile, because she really enjoyed watching all of the other dances! It was so much fun! Henry had a fabulous morning sleeping in until 9:35 and going to breakfast with Daddy!

Anna's End of Year Program...

I think that I am still in shock that Anna is 5, we are almost finished with St.Mark's (at least until Henry starts in the fall), and we are attending Kindergarten Round Up next week!!! How did time pass so quickly to allow my little girl to grow up and be a school aged child? Anyways, Anna had a fabulous end of year program at St. Mark's on Friday. It was so fun to watch the children perform all of their songs. They did a wonderful job!

Her self portrait and handwriting sample

Anna + Lilly = BFF...these are their words! So hilarious! Who knew "BFF" started at age 5? Although they have been friends since mom and me class at the racquet club and that was a couple of years ago...

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was so fun! We went to the Arts Center on Friday night for a family night where the museum came to life. There was also a ton of Egyptian activities for children to coincide with the Pharoah exhibit on loan here. Anna and Henry had a ball making papyrus, Egyptian animal puppets, digging for treasures and much more. We even went out to dinner with two families afterwards...it was wild with all of the kids!
This pic of our family was actually taken for a local magazine

Here is a pic with Anna and the flute players from the painting. If you notice the painting hanging on the wall, they are dressed like the girls in the painting. There were so many pieces of art that came to "life" in this way...it was so interesting!

Saturday, we went to Disney on Ice. It was Henry's first time to a show...it wasn't quite his thing, but Anna loved the characters and skating. Everyone LOVED the icee like drinks that they had! That was definitely Henry's favorite part!
